Welcome to ChiroFit!

Welcome to ChiroFit

I still can’t believe I’m actually typing these words but here goes!

I started this company to bring a new and fresh perspective on chiropractic care to Jersey. Having worked and lived here for almost 4 years now, I feel like the island has more to offer from chiropractic care, and that’s what I like to think I will be able to bring to Jersey.

ChiroFit’s approach to chiropractic care, and health generally, is all about the evidence and using the most up-to-date research and techniques to help you to get the best possible results short, medium and long-term. Musculoskeletal care, which chiropractic care is a form of, is not and should not be a one-size fits all kind of care. You are unique. Everyone’s lifestyle, fitness, workload, and injuries are different.

I’m the first person to admit that chiropractic care is not the ‘cure-all’ some people claim it can be. And that’s ok! My job extends past just a massage or a few pops and clicks. As part of my role, I provide comprehensive care, including exercise therapy as well as working closely with GPs and consultants as part of your care to make sure you’re getting any referrals you may require.

My aim is to work closely with you, identify your health goals and collaboratively create a plan to get you there. It could be a simple as getting rid of your low back pain, but I will take the time to get you genuine, long-lasting results.

ChiroFit has 4 core pillars of practice:

1.     Patient autonomy – this means your right to make fully informed choices and decisions about your healthcare is the priority.

2.     Evidence-based practise – using quality and recent research to inform treatment techniques, advice, and clinical decisions.

3.     Active care – getting you involved in your care and taking ownership of your health and wellness.

4.     Collaboration – making goals and decisions with you, that suit your lifestyle and ambitions. Collaboration also involves other healthcare professionals such as GPs, consultants, physios and more.

But just because chiropractic care may not be for you, ChiroFit also offers sports massage as a separate treatment option. And even better, in time I hope to start offering small group-based exercise classes for injury rehabilitation and prevention.

I’ll be posting more blogs and even some vlogs in the future discussing some commonly held healthcare beliefs and the evidence around them and talking about Chiropractic and the myths and mystery that can surround the profession.

Before you leave, I just want to say thank you so much to all my friends and family that have helped and supported me in the making of ChiroFit. Dad, mum, my sisters (Stella who is an incredibly talented artist, and Laura who despite facing her own health challenges is an amazing vet), dinner club girls (Becca, Emma and Katie) and Tim who has helped create this website. You have all listened my every worry about this venture for months – I could not have done it alone, and your support means the world.

This is just the beginning! Stay posted for more updates!
